The Duty blanket
Duty is one of the moral values whose expression varies from one country to ano-ther in Africa. One must take care of the elderly and live with them. It is not a written law but it naturally governs societies in Africa. This cover is dominated by a back-ground of wine-red stripes, sparse white and two black lines. The wine-red color re-calls the blood of the ancestors, the grandparents and their sacrifices. It is thanks to them that the lineage was created: they are the first generation. The light white symbolizes the second generation: the parents, the active adults. They are like a color between the grandparents and the children, represented by the black of the two lines. The children are fertile ground for the values of the society. *Wajibu means duty in Swahili.
