The Unity blanket

Africa is more than 30 million square kilometres, which is 3 times the size of Canada with 9.98 million square kilometres. Africa is 55 countries divided into 5 main regions with nearly 3 thousand local languages. The black band around this blanket symbolises the African land. The other colours recall the diversity of peoples and cultures in Africa. But despite this diversity and the barriers erected by colonisation, unity remains a very important value for the African individual. Outside the continent there is a general tendency to consider all of Africa as one country. It takes a bit of culture and sometimes curiosity not to fall into the amal-gamation! But it doesn’t matter! The African feels generally one with others. “Different colours but One People”.
