The Hospitality blanket

Africa values hospitality. The other name of Senegal, for example, is the land of teranga. Teranga means to welcome. In Mali, we say to the foreigner that they left their home to come back to their home. The white here represents the purity and sincerity of the African’s will to receive their guest well. Green expresses the hope of leaving good memories with the foreigner. There is a form of dignity that goes with it.
