The Sissokè blanket

Forgiveness is a treasure that must be earned. The palaver tree, family mee-tings, the council of elders, are all channels for discussing forgiveness. For-giveness is also like a bridge between two worlds; the visible world and the invi-sible world. Sometimes it takes a whole spiritual process to ask for and obtain forgiveness from members of the invisible world. This is not a belief to be trivia-lised though! The colours of this blanket illustrate the statement that our spit is white even though the blood that flows in us is red. *Sissokè means forgiveness in Fon.
